Does the Library purchase books or other library material for staff?

Books, journals and other library material can be acquired through Library purchase or Departmental purchase.
The Library offers a Departmental purchase service which CHS and ACTHD staff can use to order material for their Department. You will need the cost centre code and purchase approval from your Department Head. Then fill out the Departmental Order form to authorise the Library to source and purchase material on behalf of your Department. The Library’s Acquisitions staff will obtain a quote and contact you to confirm the purchase before processing the order.
Alternatively, staff can suggest material for Library purchase by completing the Suggest a Resource form. If the recommendation meets the Library’s Collection Development Policy and budget allows, the resource will be purchased by the Library and placed on hold for you (if the purchase is a physical item).
Contact Library Acquisitions for further information, or assistance submitting a purchase request.
